Casement

On the device in your hand · iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro or Mac with iOS 26, iPadOS 26, visionOS 26 or macOS 26 or later · one purchase works on all of these

On Apple Vision Pro, we recommend connecting an external keyboard and mouse (or trackpad). The software keyboard is off by default; you can turn it on in Casement's Settings.

Casement on a Mac connects to Casement Home on another Mac. It can't connect to Casement Home on the same Mac, so you need two Macs (see Support).

Casement for Mac is coming soon. Once it's released, you'll be able to get it from the same App Store page.

Installing

  1. Open the file you downloaded and move Casement Home to your Applications folder.
  2. Open Casement Home. The Casement icon appears in the menu bar.
  3. Follow the prompts to allow Screen Recording, Accessibility, Local Network and System Audio Recording (see Support for why).
  4. Install Casement from the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro or Mac and choose the Mac you want to connect to. If both screens show the same 6-digit number, click Allow on your Mac.

To open it automatically when you log in, choose "Settings…" from the Casement icon in the menu bar and turn on "Open at Login".

Updating

Casement Home never fetches updates from the internet itself. When a newer version of Casement connects to it, the Mac shows "A new Casement Home is available". When that happens, download the new version from this page and replace the old one. It's a little more hassle, but it's how we keep a simple promise for your peace of mind: nothing happens where you can't see it.

Before replacing it, choose "Quit" from the Casement icon in the menu bar. Open the downloaded file, replace Casement Home in your Applications folder, then reopen it from there.

Casement on your devices is updated through the App Store. For how the network side of this works, see Network and data commitments.

Uninstalling

  1. Choose "Quit" from the Casement icon in the menu bar.
  2. Move Casement Home from your Applications folder to the Trash.
  3. To remove pairing information too, delete the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Casement.
  4. In System Settings › Privacy & Security, remove Casement Home from "Screen & System Audio Recording" (including "System Audio Recording Only" below it), "Accessibility" and "Local Network".

Casement installs no audio driver or anything else for sound, so there is nothing more to remove.

The Mac's encryption key is kept in a part of the keychain that only Casement and Casement Home can read. It stays after you delete Casement Home, but other apps can't read it.

On your devices, deleting Casement also removes its pairing information.
